The Emerging Adults Service

If you are referred to FREA's partnered Emerging Adults Treatment Clinic, here's what you can expect:

Therapies

Strength-Based Support

This can take the form of individual, group or family therapy, psychoeducation, psychiatric assessment, and follow-up support.

For this to work, patients must show interest and motivation to develop goals and work towards change.

Staged Care

The clinic uses a guided, step-by-step approach to match interventions with mental health needs.

It starts with mild interventions and progresses to structured therapies.

This way, everyone receives tailored care, while optimizing available resources for the best possible outcomes.

eMental Health

The clinic uses the Innowell platform for all new patients.

It is a digital tool with resources and self-assessment tools, providing accessible support beyond clinic visits.

The FREA Route of Treatment
1. Referral
To get treatment at most clinics, you need a referral.
This can come from a family doctor (refer to Access Mental Health), or internally from other Child And Adolescent Mental Health Programs (CAAMHPP).
2. Orientation
All new patients must complete this before receiving treatment.
It is your introduction to the clinic, explaining how things work and the waitlist process. This is offered online in a group , or individually by phone.

3. Initial Assessment
Simplified Intake.
An intake coordinator will evaluate your needs, offer recommendations, and ensure completion of Innowell onboarding during your first appointment.
4. Collaborative Assessment
Complete the Innowell onboarding.
Once you complete the Innowell onboarding and finish the self-assessment measures, you and your providers will decide the care level and the best treatment to start.
5. Check-In
Your provider will follow-up with you after the end of the treatment.
Check-in’s will be based on your ongoing needs and regular attendance in their therapy streams. They may also refer you to adult treatment services as needed.
